The Laban Syndrome

Are you a Laban?

My Laban syndrome book review

The Laban Syndrome book has bought a lot of light and clarity to me. It has helped me see how the Laban spirit has operated in my life, how it still wants to operate to me and through me to others. In exposing Labans ways and tactics, this book has set me free, allowing me to recognise what is happening when Laban is trying to operate and stop it.

It has also been wonderful to relate with this book and to understand and see how Jacobs story and constellation resembles my own life and constellation in many ways. This recognition has bought a gratitude to my heart to the Lord for what He has done in my life and that He reconnected me to my spiritual father and began my constellation so that I can have the blessing of my father, the blessing of identity change and the blessing of my future. I recognise that if God did not intervene there is a big chance I would’ve been stuck under the Laban Syndrome for the rest of my life and I would have never walked out the plan that God had for my life.

This book has helped me recognize how God has blessed me since I left the world system when he told me to and how that has enabled me to stay free from the Laban. And how much I have cracked and grown and started to become the person that God created me to be. Your spiritual father is the one that God puts you with becuase he has everything inside of him that you need for your life and for you to become. Without my spirtual father I was not becomming and I would have never become who God has made me to be. A father is also the one who recognises who you are as his son and the one who has the authority to release you into this. I recognise that if I was never reconnected with my spiritual father there is a big chance that no one would of recognised the calling that God has on my life and therefore I would have never been able to be released and walk in it.

Favourite quote: " We as Christians must recognise that God's system is better, higher system and that we must put out trust in God's system and not in the world system."

Where have you spotted Laban Syndrome in your own life? (share a personal example). What key events in your life have you recognized as part of God’s constellation for you?

Before I came to iXchange, there was a point where I had been disconeected from the church and spiritual father for the past 4 years. The Laban syndrome (the world system) had drained me to the point of me wanting to give up. They used my skills and my talent and my looks for thier benefit. Just before I heard about iXchange I was given a contract with a well known modelling agency in JHB and was promised great things including being apart of SA fashion week. This contract did require for me to live in JHB for the next 2 years though so I would be avaible to them. At the time I had started to have a relationship with God and I didnt know it at the time but becuase I started my relationship with God again, He was all about getting me into my constellation. I had absolutely no peace to sign the contract and I didnt know why. I didnt even know at the time that the Holy Spirit leads you by peace. I just felt uneasy even though being apart of something like this had been my dream ever since I started modelling when I was 14.

These modelling agents kept insisting I sign the contract and that if I dont soon the oppurtunity would be lost. Not long after this I heard about iXchange and made a decision to move to Witbank and be apart of it. I was reconected to my spiritual father Pastor John and I started walking my constelation out. Looking back i recognise how the Laban wanted to tie me down to its system and keep me away from making decesions for God that would lead me to walking in my God given assingment. And I see how after all those years after leaving my spiritual father when I was in Grade 8 how the Holy Spiirt gave me the wisdom to not sign that contract, allowing me to be free to make a decison for God and move and leave when He told me to leave.
